Jess & Claire's fun Brisbane Wedding
Jess and Claire wed in a fun filled ceremony with Celebrant Jamie Eastgate and gave Jamie a FIVE STAR review:
"Thank you so much Jamie for being a part of our magical day. All the personal touches and your positive energy was very welcoming."
The new Mrs and Mrs kindly share their love story together:
"We first met at Hairdressing College back in 1997. It took 10 years of friendship for Jessica to admit she had been secretly in love with Claire!
We got engaged on Claire’s birthday, Jessica proposed with a rose corsage as we already had ‘commitment rings’.
When planning the style of our wedding, we went through so many options but in the end, we stuck to ‘black tie with a twist’.
We wanted glam with a little bit of funk. We purposely picked Halloween as our wedding date as that was just us - Weird and wonderful.
Our dresses were a major problem as we kept losing weight! We found our final dress a couple of weeks before the wedding! We didn’t want over the top. Plus being able to dance in them was a huge bonus. Claire’s dress was by Voodoo Lulu and Jessica’s was an Alannah Hill number.
Our Ceremony was held in the Cellar Room at Cloudland. It was amazing with the rich tones and candles. It certainly set the mood for the Halloween atmosphere.
Our ceremony was intimate and fun. We wanted to focus on our story and bring that into the ceremony. It was very emotional. The out pouring of love was tremendous.
Our Celebrant Jamie Eastgate from Brisbane City Celebrants was superb! He made everyone comfortable and his humour was infectious.
The positive energy he brought to our vows was touching. We cannot thank him enough.
We celebrated our reception at the same venue, by moving in to the Alice Room.
The chandeliers had that glam we wanted and the funky design added a whimsical touch. The rooms at Cloudland are stunning and didn’t need any further decoration.
We had a cocktail style menu. With both the brides being Coeliac and Jessica having other allergies as well, we knew the food would be hard and we’d have to accommodate our style of reception due to it. Cloudland was incredible in providing ALL gluten free items. The chef really went above and beyond to assist us.
The energy from our family and friends was incredible. We laughed and danced all night. People went out of their way to make us feel so loved.
Our first dance song was She Wants Revenge. Not Just a Girl. We agonised what song to use as music is such a huge influence in our relationship. This just fit and even now when ever we hear it, all the memories of the day flood back.
Advice for other brides to be...
Enjoy and absorb every moment because the day DOES go so fast.
